TLC & PITT Working to Help Students with Dyslexia
We are so excited, and proud, at Total Learning Centers to announce that we are working with The University of Pittsburgh to conduct research in order to develop a new tutoring system for children with dyslexia. This new system will be a computer-based reading tutor that tailors a story that suits each student’s individual readnig level.
We have invited our students to participate in this research study, in which they will be recorded while reading text aloud. These recordings will be completely anonymous, removing any references that may identify the student. These recordings will take place during the student’s regular tutoring sessions. This study is expected to last 12 weeks and at the end, each student will receive a $30 gift card in appreciation of their participation.
If you know any students that would be interested in, or able to, assist us in this research study, I encourage you to invite them to do so. If you have any questions, or if would just like to talk about this study, we would be glad to give you more inofmration and answer any questions you may have. Help us help students with Dyslexia!
