Pennsylvania Department of Education Launches Redesigned Web site

Monday, December 7th, 2009

Finally, after almost 10 years, the Pennsylvania Department of Education has made a much-needed upgrade to its Web site. PDE launched a redesigned Web site www.education.state.pa.us.

A press release from PDE today touted, “The new site offers a more intuitive method of organizing information. In addition, site users will have the option to create a free account that will enable them to customize the site to readily access information and materials they frequently use. The department’s Web site continues to be a central clearinghouse for thousands of education-related materials, including information on academic standards and curriculum, student performance data, school financial data, early childhood education resources, postsecondary and higher education resources, library services, property tax relief information and more.”

Hopefully the site is as user-friendly as it claims and helps more parents and educators to find the information they need so that more children can make the progress we wish for them.
